No sites can send emails via PHP (local or external)

Hi there - this is a relative emergency. None of my sites on WHM are sending out mail, whether it be local or external. The mail function is returning a 'false'. I am able to send mail using SMTP via email addresses created in the control panel so it is not a server wide issue but strictly a PHP issue it seems. Anyone have any idea?

  Fixed by chown root:mailtrap /usr/sbin/sendmail chmod 2755 /usr/sbin/sendmail thanks
