Why doesn't cPanel have enough update servers
In the last 6 months WHM updates are often deferred 5+ days with a message like: "Upgrade to the next LTS is blocked until Monday Feb 27, 2017 in order to distribute upgrades over a five day period. If you wish to upgrade now, you can do so now with the force option."
Why don't they have enough update servers? We pay for service and if we want timely updates we have to perform them ourselves.
The last time this happened, sometime in the past few months, it failed to update in 5 days and it was probably two full wait cycles. This is not a freebie or an open source project (when have I had to wait for an update from one of those?)--this is a premium paid service. One that should take updates more seriously.
Very poor practice.

You might want to move to the STABLE tier instead of LTS. The docs should be useful: Product Versions and the Release Process - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation cPanel Long-Term Support - Documentation - cPanel Documentation 0 -
When a new version (e.g. 62) is first introduced to the RELEASE and STABLE tiers we stagger the updates over several days. The staggering allows technical support teams at hosting providers around the world the opportunity to absorb surges in support requests which sometimes accompanies new software versions (even if there are no significant bugs we have observed that new versions cause people to open support requests). The mirroring system can handle the updates just fine. 0 -
We are on the STABLE tier: Current Tier: stable So, you just don't have enough staff for the amount of licenses you have active and that are paid for. What other company does this? I guess you are more concerned with maximizing profit than providing a fair grade of service. 0 -
That's incorrect. Please re-read the comment above. You can select the force option to update your server at anytime. 0
