Backup file not counted in disk space usage

Hi, recently one of my cpanel account holder generated a backup file and his web hosting account was already using 900mb of 1000mb allocation, but still the backup was created occupying 600mb. But still the usage of the web hosting account is 900mb. Please recommend what could be wrong. As now it should be suspended ideally for using 1500mb out of 1000mb

  Hello, Can you verify the backup archive is owned by the account username and not "root"? You can check with a command such as:
  stat /home/username/backup.tar.gz
