cant send or get emails

i recently installed cpanel, and i need help to configure it to normal functions. My vps give me 2 NS, that is ready, and default, give me 1 MX record "mail.mydomain.cl", and obiusly "Cname" and "A" records. i thought with that ready the configuration of mail will be simple, but don't work. I cant send or get mails. Sorry if i write not very well, but i am from chile and my english just is intermediate. If someone can help me to verify all configurations that should i have, will be grateful. Thanks.

  Hello, Check to ensure your domain name uses name servers associated with the cPanel server by using a utility such as IntoDNS.com.   i solved the problem, for error i changed my MX record to mail.mydomain.cl, and for defaul just is mydomain.cl, then i change it again and return to work :D i was confused because in vps the mx is named mail.mydomain.cl, then i thought is should be the same.. but was a mistake. Thanks for ur time.
