Question about Windows application
Hi,
When I see my options for web hosting plans, there are two different control panels: cPanel and Plesk. I wanna install nopCommerce as a shopping cart to set up my online store. I have heard many positive reviews about cPanel and I'm interested in choosing it with my package, but my web host says Linux with cPanel, Windows with Plesk. Since nopCommerce is a Windows-based shopping cart, am I forced to choose Plesk? Or because nopCommerce is a THIRD PARTY software, I can use cPanel to install my wished shopping cart and set up my ecommerce site?
Thanks,

This is more of a question for the folks that make the cart. Going by the system requirements, you will not be able to install it on a cPanel Powered Server: docs.nopcommerce.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=10256757 Supported operation systems: [LIST]- Windows 10
- Windows 8
- Windows 7
- Windows Server 2008

Thanks for your informative link. I had a look at your recommended page and I got a new question. At the end of the page they say: If you're going to use the multi-store feature with SSL, then Windows Server 2012 with IIS 8 is required because SNI support. What does MULTI-STORE FEATURE mean exactly? I searched on their official website and just found this page: nopcommerce.com/boards/t/27569/multi-store-ssl.aspx As you can see it doesn't make sense! I don't want to create multiple websites, but absolutely intend to use SSL to secure my website. So, is Server 2012 with IIS 8 a must? Thank you again.0 -
Hello @Fara, I don't want to create multiple websites, but absolutely intend to use SSL to secure my website. So, is Server 2012 with IIS 8 a must?
Based on their documentation, a Windows server is required, regardless of that feature: In order to run nopCommerce, you will need the following installed on your server/computer: Supported operation systems: [LIST]- Windows 10
- Windows 8
- Windows 7
- Windows Server 2008
- Windows Server 2012
Thank you.0
