Does WHM/cPanel need/use Telnet?

Hi guys, Noticed Telnet can be executed by any users with shell access (which is just me, but still haha). Does WHM/cPanel need it for anything? I'm going to remove read/execute for the Other group from the binary. Any objections?

  Well telnet basically used to check port connectivity so I dont think telnet is required on the server, however if at all for some reason if you need to check port connectivity from your server to another then you may need it.

  Ah yep. Thought as much - Thanks I don't necessarily need to get rid of it, I just want to restrict its usage to root but I was wondering if perhaps WHM/cPanel scripts use it in some way :)

  Hello! cPanel doesn't require telnet, so you can remove or restrict it without any issues. Thanks!
