Backups remain on server

WHM is set to backup nightly and store backups on S3. This much works well and our S3 has nightly, weekly and monthly backups. Issue is that those backups also remain on our server using valuable drive space. Within the Backup Configuration screen, under Configure Backup Directory I have "Retain backups in the default backup directory" unticked. With this setting unticked, my understanding is that backups should be deleted after being moved to the S3. I've double checked S3 and backups are successfully be stored in the S3. 45907

  Check the backup logs and see if any of the backups are failing, if they are they won't be removed.
  /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup
