mailman has /bin/bash
Hello,
I saw in /etc/passwd that mailman system user has shell access /bin/bash.
I am using CentOS 7.3 x86_64 standard with WHM 62.0 (build 17).
Can I disable shell access for mailman? Is it safe to be disabled?
How should I disable shell access for mailman?
On CentOS 5.11 x86_64 standard WHM 56.0 (build 46), mailman did not had shell access.
Thanks.

Hello, Mailman was refactored into an RPM as of cPanel version 58. The entry in /etc/passwd is by-design as certain mailman actions are ran as the "mailman" user. Thank you. 0 -
Hello, Isn't unsafe for mailman to have shell access? Thanks! 0 -
Hello, The mailman user is restricted to mailman-related actions. This is similar to the mysql system user. That said, if you are interested in improving the overall SSH security on your system, the following thread is helpful: [Tutorial] Interested in increasing the security of your server? Read this.
