Dear cPanel, We are facing the same problems after update 64. The problem appears on all of our servers and all accounts updated to v64 with exactly the same symtoms as "schoeps" mentioned above. We hope a fix will be available asap. With kind regards, WietseD

Hello, Internal case CPANEL-12280 is open to address an issue where users on systems running cPanel version 64 receive "535 Authentication Failed" error messages when attempting to send email via Horde or Roundcube. I'll update this thread with more information on the status of this case as it becomes available. As a temporary workaround, try browsing to "WHM >> Service Configuration >> MailServer Configuration" and clicking on "Save Changes" without making any changes to the configuration values to see if that helps address the issue. If that doesn't help, try disabling, then enabling, "PHP-FPM service for cPanel Daemons" in "WHM >> Service Configuration >> Service Manager". Thank you.

Dear Support, This seems to work as workaround. I hope this will be fixed by a new release. Thank you for your help. Best regards, WietseD
