I purchased a few domains one being domain.zone to use as my NS addresses on my new WHM setup but am told by cPanel software they're not allowed however namecheap themselves allow these to be used is this a limitation of cPanel ?

  Have you setup the nameservers at your Registrar in advance of adding them to your cPanel?
