Yup, I've got the same thing happening here on an upgrade. Got one server done about an hour and now it's stuck in the same spot as you. Must be a server issue on their end.

I have access to hostname:2087 but the install has been stuck there for over 3 hours. This is the first time I've installed on a VPS but I didn't think it'd take as long as it is. Anyone have any suggestions or tips? Is it normal? Should I just wait longer?

    This is definitely not normal.

Hello, I've opened a case with our System Administration team to report this issue. We'll update this thread with more information as it becomes available. Thank you.

Thank god (and sorry for that) i'm not alone with the issue... i already tried reinstalling from zero even the OS 3 times now just to check... but still the same, stuck in the same place... hopefully this can be resolved soon...

I am having the exact same issue. I've got two installs both locked up there. It appears that the cpaddon server is currently set to locked.

Am I going to need to restart these installs?

Hello, Our System Administration team has fixed the issue with the update mirrors, however the changes could take a few minutes to fully sync. Please wait a few more minutes and let us know if the installation continues to hang. Thank you.

I'm an absolute noob regarding cPanel but if the problem is truly is a problem with one of their servers and the "Running install_cpaddons" hasn't timed out for me by now, I'd imagine the installation will continue when access to the server is restored.

I killed off my update process since it was still stuck at that stage. Ran the update again and it worked fine (thought it was hanging again but got going after about 10 seconds)....
