Individual Mail Directories dovecot files

Within individual mail directories within domains on my vps are dovecot.* files. Are these created as a part of cpanel? Or might these be hack files? - Removed -

  Hello, It's normal to see files like this within the /home/$username/mail directory:
  dovecot.index.cache dovecot.index.log dovecot.list.index.log dovecot-quota dovecot-uidlist dovecot-uidvalidity
  Does this match what you are seeing, or are there different file names? Thank you.

  This matches. Thank you for your response. I can rest easier now but still try to find the source of numerous smtp activity.
