CSF firewall problem
I can't stand this anymore. I have a cPanel server (CENTOS 7.3 x86_64 vmware " core WHM 62.0 (build 21)) and a few sites use php_mailer to connect via SMTPAuth (port 587) to give emails to my second mail server to delivery. Everything is fine for days. Then all of a sudden the cPanel server cannot connect to port 587 to delivery the messages anymore. Its 100% a problem with csf. This happens overnight when cPanel updates or does something, after this update the connections to port 587 fail. I then have to go in and simply do a "csf -r" and its fine again. or otherwise reboot the server. This has been happening for like 6 months now.
What can I do to stop this? Can I stop firewall updates? Is that it?

Is CSF sending you any sort of alert when it blocks the script? 0 -
No, not specifically, unless an alert is buried in the update email with all the other stuff cPanel tries to do on the weekend. Sometimes it doesn't happen though, there is a level of randomness to it. 0 -
In your firewall options, check the Relay Settings to be sure all alerts are enabled. I would think if CSF was blocking a mail script, you'd be getting an alert with at least some details. You might also check your logs when the script gets blocked for clues about whats going on. 0
