Adding alt tags to images

Hi, I want to add alt tags to my images from the cpanel backend. My site has been built on wordpress. The images that i am talking about belongs to the template of the pages, thus cannot be located on the wordpress backend. I cannot locate the images on the php pages as well. I can only locate the images on an uploads folder from the cpanel backend. Please advise!
