Security Advisor Upgrade to KernelCare Message When KernelCare Is Installed
Our host installs and runs KernelCare by default, and they have assured me that it is running fine on our VPS, but I still see the following notice in CENTOS 6.8 x86_64 kvm " host cPanel & WHM 64.0 (build 15) when I run Security Advisor:
Upgrade to KernelCare.
KernelCare provides an easy and effortless way to ensure that your operating system uses the most up-to-date kernel without the need to reboot your server. Upgrade to KernelCare.
Is that just an ad, or is there some issue with KernelCare on our server that I should be looking for?

Hello, Could you post the output from the "/usr/bin/kcarectl --uname" command on this system? Thank you. 0 -
It returns: -bash: /usr/bin/kcarectl: No such file or directory0 -
I assumed from the failure of the command above that KernelCare is either not installed, or it's in a different location, but in this KB article on LiquidWeb's site, they show the same path. Even though they told me that KernelCare is installed and running yesterday, I'm going to submit a support ticket to them and get them to confirm it. 0 -
It turns out that KernelCare wasn't running on my account. Now it is, and the warning message in Security Advisor is gone. The command above returns the correct path, and I can run: /usr/bin/kcarectl --info
to check the status of KernelCare. Thanks for the help. You can mark this one "solved."0 -
I'm happy to see the issue is now solved. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
