Site Redirect Question

Hello, I'm a newbie, and I'm having an issue here.. once I try to redirect my web from example.com to example.com/new I think i made a mistake, so i write example.com/new Then I delete it from my redirect list, and make a new one. Everytime i write down www.example.com, it does just fine and redirect it to example.com/new but everytime I write down example.com it just come strait to example.com/new, eventho it's not on the list anymore. What should I do? and i can't fine the .htaccess, eventho i also don't know what to do if i find it. It's really frustrating.

  Hello, Could you let us know what method you used to setup the redirect? Could you also let us know the contents of the .htaccess file in the /home/$username/public_html directory (ensure to replace real domain names with examples)? Thank you.
