Redirect domain to new server IP but keep email
Today I redirected a domain to a new server by updating the A record to the new IP but want to keep email at old server. The domain successfully redirects to new server but ever since I cannot receive email at old server (but can send).
I've done research and messed around with multiple things and still haven't resolved.
Here is my current setup.
MX Record
mydomain.com. in MX 0 at mail.mydomain.com.
A Records
mydomain.com in A at xx.xxx.xxx.xx (new server)
mail.mydomain.com in A at yy.yyy.yyy.yy (old server)
I had a CNAME Record at:
www in CNAME at mydomain.com
BUT since deleted it because I read it was overriding my MX record.
I checked intoDNS.com and there are no severe errors BUT one odd thing I noticed is it says I still have a the www CNAME record at mydomain.com as mentioned above (It doesn't show in 'Edit DNS Zone').
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi, What are the nameservers you are using. I hope you are editing the zone at a proper location where it is actually taking up the DNS zone from.. Also, you can create a www A record instead of CNAME, as this will also be required for your website... 0 -

Hello, It's possible the email routing was configured to "Remote Mail Exchanger". To correct this, you can browse to "WHM >> Edit MX Entry", select the affected domain name, and ensure "Local Mail Exchanger" is selected under the "Email Routing" section. Thank you. 0
