Incremental backup copys all files again?

I notice that incremental backup of today contains the same files and sizes of a incremental backup of yesterday. The incremental backup copy all files over again when backup script run? The public_html directory of both backups contain the same files and same disk use. I don't understand how this backup is "incremental", the backup is a complete backup with all file, not just the new ones. Someone can explain why the files in one "incremental" backup (the first one, taken yesterday and the today backup contains all the same files). Really???

  oh, i believe thats because hard links, that's correct?

  Hello, Yes, while it might seem like the disk space is duplicated, this is just a product of how hard links work. This is discussed in more detail at: How do the backups work exactly? Thank you.
