Auto Wordpress Updates

The Site Software one-click install is VERY handy. But it would be good to know what options we have after that point. We all have different approaches to how we want to keep WordPress up-to-date.
The fact that we get incorrect information in our WordPress admin that we are up-to-date when we are not is not good. I would like to disable the cPanel & WHM" Site Software plug-in after the handy install, but there is a poorly worded warning: "If this plugin is disabled, cPanel will no longer be able to manage this installation correctly, which could lead to data loss." People have asked "what data loss?"
Bottom line: is it safe to deactivate?

The version installed on my cPanel is not reflected on the websites. 0 -
Hello @Mad River Host, cPanel version 64 includes WordPress as an RPM to address this concern. Here's the relevant section from the . Note: You cannot use the cPAddons interface to upgrade your legacy Wordpress instances to the RPM-based Wordpress installations. However, we plan to add that ability in the future.
Thank you.0
