SPF DKIM and Sendgrid Question

A vendor wants me to add 3 of their IP's to our SPF record. However in the DKIM record they have requested we add it uses automated security (DKIM - SendGrid Documentation | SendGrid). My question is, why do I still need to add the 3 specific IP's to our SPF record and should I? I know using IP addresses will not use up our DNS lookup limit, but should vendor IP's be included or should the IP's in our SPF record only be local? Thanks,

  Hello, SendGrid offers some documentation on why you may want to add IP addresses to the records: SPF Records Explained - SendGrid Documentation | SendGrid SPF: Don't Exceed Ten DNS Lookups! - SendGrid Documentation | SendGrid I don't see any issues with adding SendGrid's IP addresses to the SPF record if you are using their service for email.
