Email Not Setup Correctly

I have an issue with my email setup. When i login to an account and send an email to any email the email goes through but is coming through as cpaneluser@hostname.com How do i set it to use that user@domain.com. Are my mx records not setup correctly ?

  Hello, Are you sending email via an email client, webmail, or using a PHP application? For an email client or webmail, you'd need to create an email account using the "Email Accounts" option in cPanel, and then login to that email account via Webmail using the individual email account username and password. If sending the email via a PHP application, you'd have to ensure the application uses SMTP authentication. Thank you.

  Logging in directly with the user worked. Don't know why I didn't think of that.
