Backup Change from Incremental to Compress
Hello, I have a doubt that I haven't been able to find anywere.
I Have a server with version WHM 64 with a secondary HD for backup, for 2 years I'v been using the increemental backup, I was making backup Montly, anually and daily and now mi HD is Full.
Im thinkin on change it to Compress and just keep daily and weekly backup but What I haven't find out is what happen if I change now the configuration from cPanel, Would it convert the files that are allready on the backup drive or will it just add the new backup files?
If you have a recomendation also for and external backup for a 3TB at least I would love to here some recomendations.

Hello, In cPanel 64, the new incremental backup functionality should reduce the amount of space required due to the use of hard links. Could you provide an example of the current disk space usage of your backup directories, or verify any custom steps you are taking to store additional copies of the backups? Thank you. 0 -
Thank you, For now m HD is 100% (2,883,593,072 of 2,884,152,536) root@ssl [/backup]# du -sh /backup/monthly/ 1.3T /backup/monthly/ root@ssl [/backup]# du -sh /backup/weekly/ 2.4T /backup/weekly/ root@ssl [/backup]# I don't know if it's the right way to calculate this 0 -

root@ssl [/backup]# du -sh /backup/monthly/ 1.3T /backup/monthly/
You should be able to remove that monthly backup directory easy enough, freeing up quite a bit of storage.0 -
Thank you. Is it safe just to delete the montly folder? 0 -
Yes of course. :) Once you've disabled Monthly backups in settings and then deleted the monthly directory to free up the space, you should be able to switch to compressed backups and then force a new backup to run (or just wait for nightly) to get those new compressed backups built. 0
