Excluded from backup folder got deleted by the backup restoration?

Hi, it seems the cPanel backup restoration process deleted a folder that was in the exclude list. Is there a way to get it back and why is the backup restoration process so destructive? To my understanding, an excluded files list are files that don't get picked up by the daily backup, but why does it have to destroy them while restoring the other files?

  The backup process does not delete files. It either backs it up or it doesn't (excluded, wrong perms/owner), but it does not delete.

  I guarantee you it wiped off a whole directory upon restoring other files in the same account. That folder was in the exclude list. At the end of the restoration process, it recreated an empty directory because there was a subdomain associated with it, but the folder was totally empty.

  Please open a ticket directly to cPanel Technical Support about this so they can come by for a closer look.
