Index of / addon domain

Hi all, Despite not being able to add an addon domain due to 500 internal error in cpanel, it seems my second domain is up and running; I can log in thru ftp.midomain.com and see all the directories from my main domain, however I manually added the second domain folder to public_html and of course added an index.html and made sure htaccess (which was already there) wasnt a problem. Despite all of this I still get the index of / and cgi folder. Contacting host provider is not an option. Please help.

  You are with limited access on a shared hosting environment, you will have to contact the hosting provider to correct the issues.

  Hello, You may need to consider finding a new hosting provider if your existing provider is no longer in business. If that's the case, the "Backup" option in cPanel will allow you to generate a full backup of the account for the purpose of moving to a new hosting provider. Thank you.
