Dovecot error after recent kernel update for CVE-2017-1000364
Hi,
After kernel update for CVE-2017-1000364, dovecot fails to start with following error
Starting Dovecot Imap: doveconf: Fatal: execvp() failed: No such file or directory
[FAILED]
Also /var/run/dovecot does not contain usual link files. It has only three folders empty, login, token-login
Any workaround to fix this issue ?

Hello, Does this system use Ksplice? If so, check to see if using "uptrack" to update the kernel addresses the issue: uptrack-upgrade - y /scripts/check_cpanel_rpms /scripts/restartsrv_dovecot
Thank you.0 -
The issue partly seems to be due to ksplice also. Refer Ksplice users - heads up | Web Hosting Talk others too facing issues due to faulty ksplice patch we guess. We only tried /scripts/check_cpanel_rpms /scripts/restartsrv_dovecot Problem is still there 0 -
The dovecot issue persists even if ksplice patches are removed. Should be something related to recent kernel updates. 0 -

In similar reports, customers were able to address the issue by updating the kernel with the following command (before running the above commands):uptrack-upgrade - y

Hi, Thank you for the reply. Kernel update to a higher version with reboot fixed the issue. 0
