Incremental backups - Could not create hard link

We've used compressed backups in the past with no issues but have lately run into disc usage issues. We want to now make use of incremental backups but when we switch to incremental backups we're given: ERROR: Could not create hard link: Operation not permitted The backup location is NFS and works perfectly with compressed/uncompresed. I can also see that when we switch to incremental backups and click save, a new file is created in the NFS path (.link.test.src.....) which is empty. I suspect that this is permissions related but as the compressed backups stored to the exact path I'm not sure how to fix this?

  Hello, Incremental backups use hard links as of cPanel version 64, and thus might not work with your NFS mount. Here's a thread on StackOverflow regarding the use of hard links with NFS mounts: NFS + Hard Links? Thank you.
