Free Page Cache After Backup

After our daily backup runs the page cache memory stays high (around 4 gig). We have 8 gig on this VPS. Clearing the page cache frees this up. Should we include freeing page cache in the post backup script? This is the legacy backup. It's also a fairly large compressed backup.
