Nevertheless I like to leave no copy in the "Default Email Account".

Do you mean no email in it?

But if I select "discard" nothing gets forwarded? That is not what I like to achieve. What I like could be called "redirect" not "forward".

Why would you want anything forwarded, or redirected? What sort of email do you get in the default account?

Mails where no addresses exist. Maybe I just use a cron which deletes all mail in the default address account.

If you use the settings in my screenshot, you won't get email that needs to be deleted.

I think we have some sort of misunderstanding. If I do that the mails won't get forwarded. But I want them to get forward and not stay in the default mail account.

We probably do. My apologies. Why would you want to forward these emails?
    Mails where no addresses exist.

Spam sent to non existent email addresses on your account being forwarded somewhere else is a bad idea. Those settings mentioned, reject the non existing email accounts all together.

It is about a domain which had several accounts in the past on another server but they don't exist anymore. But it should still be monitored if someone still uses them.

You'd do better to create a forwarder for the specific non-existent email address(es) as needed. You don't need to create an actual email account for that, so, any email going to you@example.com and there is no you@example.com get forwarded to wherever you like. All others, someusr @ example.com, anotherusr @ example.com wouldn't be accepted.

Okay, that is also an option. Although I don't a list of these previously existing mail addresses. Thank you for your patience
