Too many "Received" headers - suspected mail loop
Hello, apologies if you have seen this header before but I cannot seem to resolve the issue.
Its seems that a local domain where the website is also being hosted as well as the email is having this issues when sending email to "some domains".
When an email is sent there is a record in "Mail Delivery Reports" 22 emails at the same time to the address where there should only be one, 21 of them have the status "Accepted" No 22 shows "Too many "Received" headers - suspected mail loop". and the sender gets a "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender" message back
The domain only has 1 MX record (IPv4) pointing to the server
The domain is set to a local MX
The domain is listed in /etc/localdomains
The domain is NOT listed in /etc/remotedomains
I have also tried running #/scripts/checkalldomainsmxs --yes

Hello, Could you search for one of the affected messages in /var/log/exim_mainlog and let us know the output? EX: exigrep MSGID /var/log/exim_mainlog
Replace "MSGID" with the message ID found in the header of the message, or use the email address name instead. Thank you.0 -

Hello, Could you post the output again in CODE tags, but with references to real domain names, email addresses, and IP addresses replaced with examples? Thank you. 0 -
