Comments in /etc/ips.remotedns (Remote Service IP's)
Is there a way to add comments to /etc/ips.remotedns (Remote Service IP's) so we can explain what IP addresses are used for?
I have had to add a bunch of "temporary" IP's in the past when certain domains weren't ready to come off the default registrar nameservers. This causes confusion because its hard to understand what IP's are actually needed for addon domains.
Today i want to add a couple Godaddy IP's to a server -- but only temporarily, with a note to remove them after domain swap. Is there a way I can leave a comment in that file/textbox?

Hi, You use hash to comment the line. "You can put a "#" and continue with the line, so the things following this "#" will all be commented.. 0 -
Cool, that's what i tried in /etc/ips.remotedns and it seemed to work. However in the WHM interface for "remote service ip's" it says that its an "invalid DNS IP list" and wont let further saves. Not sure if that's a bug or what. Figured i had the wrong comment syntax or something. 0 -
Hello, There's no support for adding comments to that file. I encourage you to open a feature request if this is something you'd like to see added to the product: Submit A Feature Request Thank you. 0
