Email account disappeared
Hello!
We had an email account created ( let's say test@domain.com ) and one day we noticed that this email disappeared from the "Email Accounts" section in cpanel. We tried to recreate the account but it says that it already exists and it does in /home/$domain/mail/$domain/ but it does not appear in email accounts and we also cannot access it. We tried deleting it manually but it outputs the same error. We also tried restoring the files from a backup but still no luck.
Ownership of the files is allright. Any ideas how to restrore/recreate the email account?
Google also didn't help
Thank you!

Hello, Try to run fix mail permission script as below and check mail account in cpanel /scripts/mailperm If still facing same issue then try to update cpanel forcefully using below command. /scripts/upcp --force 0 -
Hello, Can you verify if the entries for this email account exist in the passwd and shadow files under the /home/$cpanel-username/etc/$domain.tld/ directory? Thank you. 0 -
