Retain backups in default backup directory setting off with Gdrive
In v66.0.17 I have configured backup to use GDrive as remote destination, one of the options is to "Retain backups in the default backup directory", it is has to be selected to keep backups locally.
The description for this option reads "This option retains backups in the default local backup directory, even after the system transfers the backups to another destination. If this option is not selected, backups will be deleted after being moved to another destination."
I have left this option unticked but the backups are not being deleted from the local directory and it's rapidly filling up my disc space which mean I have to manually monitor usage and clear down old backups.
Is this a bug?

Hello, Could you review the recent backup logs in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup/ in addition to the /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup_transporter.log log to see if there are any error messages related to the lack of removal of the backup archives on the local cPanel server? Thank you.0 -
There's a couple of errors in the dump log /bin/gtar: /var/cpanel: file changed as we read it /bin/gtar returned a non-fatal error code, 1 (Some files differ). and also One or more files in the home directory were not readable and were not copied. Please review the home directory upon completion of transfer WARN: Warnings(s) encountered in tar during archiving: /home/beaconcom/lscache/.cm.log: Cannot open file: Permission denied at bin/pkgacct.pl line 1470. No error in the transporter.log All files successfully copied to to remote destination. I have retention =5, does that apply to local disc or remote destination? 0 -
After examining the dump log more carefully I also say this message.. "System backups will not be uploaded to any remote destinations." but no explanation why that is the case. the local /accounts/ folder is empty, but the local /system/ folder still have files within /files/ and /dirs/ folder so these are not been transported to GDrive destination. 0 -
