Backups taking longer on CloudLinux and cPanel 66
Hello:
just have actually same experience.... backups are taking almost 18-20 hours..... are incremental, only keeping actual day, at NFS partition.
Before last upgrade to cpanel v64, it was taking maybe 2-3 hours or less.
Any information related???
Thanks.

Nope. But I'll do that aswell. May probably have to readd the tunedprofile using command. tuned-adm profile cloudlinux-default 0 -
nope doesnt make much difference for me, alteast its far better now after I disabled : phpMyAdmin information schema searches Thats the only thing I changed on 3 servers and restarted backups after killing processes and now it works much better It was stuck for over 8 hours on /var/lib/mysql and now its gone past that in 15 minutes. And we use full SSD disks in RAID 10. Very powerful servers so not server related and on 3 servers highly doubt it. :) But atleast its okish now. 0 -
got it. Can you guys confirm this is solved by doing the following: disable "phpMyAdmin information schema searches" and Set "Extra CPUs for server load" to a number half your cores probably. As we have 20 core VM I set it to 10. Backups are now running at full speed for me atleast. I noticed it kept pausing the backups monitoring the cpbackup.log file and saying this "which is below the threshold of 1.75. Continuing "" When I realised it was due to extra cpus for server load setting I increased it and all is gone and backups are just running fast. Atleast for me all is sorted. 0 -
Hello, To update, internal case CPANEL-15825 is now closed as the issue is no longer reproducible in cPanel version 68 (cPanel 66 is now EOL since version 68 has reached the Stable tier). Thank you. 0 -
I have finally ditched cpanel backups, and using r1soft backup. after a few days of configuring it. ITS Mental. first backup of 400gb took 6 hours, second backup took 2 hours (incremental changed data only) I started another VM on (vmware on my private cloud) installed R1soft SBM which handles and stores the data. now my clients can restore single files / databases with 1 touch. Recommend r1Soft to anyone. Which this happens also the server load doesnt go over 2.0 even though its sending the data at 700mbps :) Thank you R1soft SBM & licencecart for my licence on the server. 0
