Implications of using NetworkManager CentOS 7?
Is there there more info about the warning about the NetworkManager?
The installation guide states:
You must disable NetworkManager before you run the cPanel & WHM installation. The Network Manager service automates the network's settings and disrupts connections to the IP addresses that reside in the ipaliases module.
Installation Guide - System Requirements - Documentation - cPanel Documentation What is the implication today (CentOS 7.4) of: a) using NetworkManager with Cpanel? b) disabling or activating NetworkManager with Cpanel installed? A lot of things can disrupt connections to IP addresses. So I wonder what scenarios are meant. I currently don't use CentOS 7 on productive servers. So my question might be silly. Feel free to point that out too.

Hello, Network Manager can override settings managed by the network service and disrupt ipaliases. It's unsupported, and enabling it is not recommend (even post-installation). An additional document is available at: How to Disable Network Manager - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0
