ftp connection issue
Hi
I have someone who has connected in the past to our server (about 2 months ago) which is now having an issue connecting. At the moment, we can only see that his router has changed to a google wifi, but everything else is the same. The following error is from Filezilla;
Status: Resolving address of XXXXXXXXXX
Status: Connecting to XX.XX.XX.XX:XX...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Status: Initializing TLS...
Status: Verifying certificate...
Status: TLS connection established.
Status: Logged in
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/" is your current location
Command: TYPE I
Response: 200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary
Command: PORT 192,168,86,XX,XXX,XXX
Response: 500 I won't open a connection to 192.168.XX.XX (only to XX.XXX.XXX.XX)
Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (XX,XX,XX,XX,XX,XX)
Command: MLSD
Error: The data connection could not be established: ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server
The connection is set to active, but it looks like it switching to passive in the error above. We usually have no issue connecting via an active connection, so not sure what to do? Do I need to change something to get it to work?

Hello, The following document is useful for ensuring passive FTP is properly configured: How to Enable FTP Passive Mode - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation You may also find the following thread helpful if you are using CSF: SOLVED - passive mode on pure-ftp + configserver Thank you. 0 -
Thanks for your reply. It looks like I need to follow those instructions and enable passive mode. 0
