PHP with Litespeed requires world permission to write

Hi, I just set up a new cpanel server with Litespeed. My problem is that whenever PHP wants to write to a directory or a file, despite being owned by the same user and the permission having "write" set for both user and group, I get permission denied error in PHP. Now PHP works only when permission has writable for the world... like 777! It's a security issue. I don't want to make a directory writable for the world. My previous server was fine. Am I missing any configuration? Thanks

  Fixed! It appears that Litespeed does not enable suEXEC by default and it has to be enabled manually. The odd thing was that php reported the same user when using get_current_user but did have permissions for that user when suEXEC for litespeed was disabled.
