When does cPanel delete finished backup transfers?

If the "Retain backups..." setting is unchecked, are backups deleted immediately after the system transfers them to another destination or does it wait for the next backup schedule to run before it deletes them?

  Hello, Backups are deleted right after the backup transfers to another destination.

  Hello, The local copy of the backup archive is queued for deletion once the transfer of the archive to the remote destination succeeds. It's not retained until the next backup generation. Thank you.
