Manually starting the backup transfer
My weekly auto backup completed successfully on my server, but while transferring the backups to my offsite storage, the remote server restarted automatically to apply Windows updates. As a result, the backup transport was not completed successfully.
Is there any way I can manually kick-start the backup transport process so that it completes? Preferably in a way where it checks what is already on the remote server and resumes the transfer, rather than doing the whole week's worth again (it's a lot of data and the remote server is not behind a fast internet connection).
Thanks

If the backup doesn't complete it fails. You can start it again but it starts from the top, it doesn't pick up where it left off. You might do better to pick up a cheap VPS somewhere proper for off site backups. Slow connections, windows updates? Yikes. GL!0 -

The backup successfully completed locally. It only starts the transport once the backup has finished. And I know I know...it is an old box in my office which I repurposed for offsite backups. I'll reinstall it with some Linux distro when I find the time...but until now it does its job :-)0 -
I'm not sure if this thread will be of any use to you or not: Running backup transport only 0
