local smtp connection fails

hi, im having some issues that started today I have wordpress and xcart send emails out by connecting with smtp of the same domain hosting the site this has been working fine for some time, but this morning all now fail to connect any one can help regards Keith

  Hello, Do you notice any error messages in /var/log/exim_mainlog when attempting to send a message through WordPress? Also, is "WHM Home " Security Center " SMTP Restrictions" enabled on this system? This will block the SMTP connection if the scripts are configured to connect to a remote mail server. Thank you.

  I have disabled smtp restriction now and all seems to be working fine Many thanks for your help Keith
