Which Backup Cron is "Real"
Under "Configure cPanel Cron Jobs" there are two commands "backup and "cpbackup". Their descriptions are identical other than their name and their default run times.
Which one is the "real" one that will affect the time the backups that I've configured under "Backup Configuration" will run?

This old thread should be useful: Difference between backup script (.../backup or .../cpbackup) 0 -
Thanks for that. So I'm going to assume I'm using the new backup system (because it's the only one I can find in WHM). Since I can't remove the old backup cron, I've set it to 1 1 1 1 1 so it will only try to run the old backup once a year. It would be even better if the old cron could be removed altogether. Is there a way of removing the old backup cron completely? 0 -
Hi, You can leave it as it is. There is no need to change anything in it.. The backup cron checks the configuration before it starts backup, so if the cpbackup is no more, then the backup is not going to initiate at all.. 0
