Restart the listed process
Hello friends
Every few days I get an email like this:
New Security Advisor notifications with High importance
Detected X process that is running outdated executables: 1234 You must take one of the following actions to ensure the system is up-to-date:
-Restart the listed process.
-Reboot the server.
What is the alternative to reboot?
Where can I find a guide or explanation about safe 'Restart the listed process'
Thanks
-
Hello, You can run the following command to see a list of processes that need restarting: /usr/bin/needs-restarting
A reboot is only required in cases where restarting the service associated with those processes doesn't remove them from the output of the above command. Thank you.-1 -

The docs should be of some use: CloudLinux Documentation 0 -
service lvestats restart
did the trick. Thank you for your advice. 0
