Permissions Issue with Mounted Home DIR
Hi guys,
I need some help... i'm building a new server and have changed the /home directory to a mounted drive on storage server.
I've just this in /etc/fstab to mount the drive:
//host.example.com /home cifs iocharset=utf8,rw,credentials=/etc/credentials_home.txt,uid=0,gid=0,file_mode=0660,dir_mode=0770 0 0 _netdev
When cPanel tries to create a new account in the /home directory now it complains that it cannot set the new user permissions and account creation fails.
I've no idea how to fix... has anyone had the same issue and have fixed?
Thanks
Adam

Hi Adam, While network-based filesystems are often configured for backup purposes, we actually don't support them for home directories. This is mentioned under the . Some network filesystems (for example, NFS) may require additional configuration in order to function properly. However, these configurations are difficult to implement successfully and we do not support them.
Thank you.0
