Problem updating Wordpress Style

Hey guys. I'm a bit new to this. I'm experiencing a little bit of a problem uploading files successfully through cpanel. I've got wordpress installed on my site & I tried uploading a template via cpanel (as I've always done). Unzipped, etc but the template doesn't show at the WP backend. Tried installing a free template through WP (it was successful) & it didn't show up on Cpanel. I went as far as deleting all the files in the public_html folder & reinstalling WP but everything is still the same. It's almost as if my WP & Cpanel are no longer in sync. What could be the problem? Thanks.

  Hello, Could you provide more details about how you are uploading the custom template? Is it through the File Manager option in cPanel? Thank you.
