cPanel upcp failure but completes to 100%

Hello, Every day when the cpanel's upcp runs, I get a mail cPanel & WHM update failure in upcp script

I ran
awk '$4=="E"' /var/cpanel/updatelogs/update.latest.log
and it says [2017-11-30 13:44:58 +0530] E [./check_perms] The "./check_perms" command (process 26604) reported error number 1 when it ended. [2017-11-30 13:45:19 +0530] E Post Maintenance ended, however it did not exit cleanly (256). Please check the logs for an indication of what happened
What is the error with check_perms? And how could I solve this? Regards, Vijai

    I believe that this is a script used as part of the Mailman maintenance. See this page for a list of available commands and more information: Mailman FAQ - Version 68 Documentation - cPanel Documentation

    Vijai, It may be the problem with your mailman permissions and it has not finished. Use following command to auto check all mailman permission. /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/bin/check_perms or use a command to fix mailman issue /scripts/fixmailman

    I think the script has been modified.     The issue is resolved. The Customer representative removed mailman using
    rpm -e --nodeps cpanel-mailman
    and then installed mailman again using
    /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_rpms --fix --targets=mailman

    Hello, Do you know if the /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/Mailman/Defaults.py file on your system was manually modified in the past, or if any Mailman configuration changes in general were made on the affected system? Thank you.
