BoxTrapper : special characters
Hi all.
I have the same problem than shown (and not solved) here : Typing special characters in BoxTrapper.
As lot of people who are writing to me will be french, I want to include french and english messages. But french language include special characters like " and so... No problem to change that thru BoxTrapper set up, but unfortunately, that's the verify mail (for example) received :
Objet : Votre courriel necessite une v"rification [...]
Le message que vous avez envoy"#a9# n"#a9#cessite que vous confirmiez que vous ""tes un ""tre humain r"#a9#el et non un outil d'envoi de pourriels.
Pour effectuer cette v"#a9#rification, veuillez r"#a9#pondre " ce message en laissant la ligne intacte, ou cliquez directement sur le lien [...].
As you can see : - Special characters (","...) in Subject is well received (you can read "v"rification"). - Special characters in Body is bad. You can see "v"#a9#rification". Please notice that this problem looks like be client dependent : Thunderbird, webmail... are showing problem, while gmail is ok. I'm pretty sure there's something with the function used to pass body message to sendmail function, or page code used, or... anyway, I can't change anything. Thank you for your help...

Hello, Can you verify which version of cPanel is installed on this system? Also, is this new behavior (e.g. did this use to work different in the past)? Thank you. 0 -
Hello Michael, Thank you for your interest. Version is 68.0.19. I just started to used it a few weeks ago : so, I can't say if it was different in the past, it always did that since I tried). Please notice that I can't update the version as it's provided by my internet provider... Thank you, 0 -
Hello, As I understand, it's up to the email client to handle those characters. For instance, with Thunderbird, you could follow the instructions on the following third-party URL and it should then properly handle the syntax: wrong characters in mail | Thunderbird Support Forum | Mozilla Support Thank you. 0 -
...thank you, but... I receive hundreds of mails per week, from multi sources and different servers, and those from BoxTrapper are the only ones with this problem. In addition, the mail are wrong on different clients : I told you thunderbird, but also webmail clients like roundcube. In addition addition, "subject" if ok while "body" isn't : perhaps the way to send the mail is different between the two parts ? Thank you for any other idea. 0 -

Hello, I was unable to reproduce the issue in Roundcube. The BoxTrapper verification email correctly displayed the accent characters (e.g. ", ", "). If possible, we'd like to take a closer look at the affected system. Do you have root access to this system? If not, could you ask your hosting provider to open a support ticket with us via the link in my signature so we can investigate this further? Thank you.0 -
Michael, Thank you for your reply : I really appreciate you tried again. I gave the provider the link to this post, I hope they will contact you : please keep me in touch, if they do it or no. Thank you once again, Regards. 0
