Hello, In order to use the short-form FTP username (with the exception of the cPanel account username), the account must be assigned a dedicated IP address, and you have to use that dedicated IP address (or a domain name resolving to it) as the host in your FTP client. In those cases, creating FTP accounts such as user123@domain will allow you to use user123 as the FTP username. Thank you.

will allow you to use user123 as the FTP username.

Does not operate. 530 Login authentication failed. Though connects fine. I took the Dedicated IP Address from the Server Information page (linked from the main page of cPanel). cPanel 68.0.20. FTP client: Core FTP LE Version 2.2 build 1912. Please test yourself, again, and report the details. Does username.conf file include a variable for changing the delimiter in the ftp user names ?

Hello, Are you sure the IP address assigned to that cPanel account is not configured as a shared IP address, and is not assigned to any other cPanel account? That's the only way it's considered to be "dedicated". Thank you.

cPanel item displays "Dedicated IP Address". I assume that cPanel does not deceive, but i can not be sure in cPanel's correctness.

Hello, Your access level shows as "Website Owner". Can you check with your web hosting provider to verify your account is assigned a dedicated IP address? Also, can you verify which version of cPanel is installed on the server? Thank you.

Due to a reply of the hoster support service I clarified that cPanel is capable to deceive clients displaying the title "Dedicated IP Address" when the IP Address of the server is shared in reality. So, it happened that IP Address is shared in my case. Regarding the version of cPanel - was my notion of the cPanel version not full enough there:
    cPanel 68.0.20.

or is cPanel learned to deceive in its version information too ? Anyway now cPanel shows version 68.0.21 on its pages. Please eliminate the limitation of Own Posts Editing Time on the forum. Thank you.

Hello @Agreetogri, That seems more like a customization implemented by your hosting provider, as the cPanel interface will not display if an IP address is dedicated. Feel free to post a screenshot of what you are seeing if you'd like us to confirm that. Thank you.

I am designating the desired sequence of the issues to be solved by the digits in the brackets here. (1) Can you provide the Unlimited Editing Time of a member's Own Posts on the forum or, otherwise, to add Agreetogri to the member group with Unlimited Editing permission ? (2) Can you defend this my topic from (possible) replies of other members except you (or the Staff Members of the support team with additional privileges, if will be required) to preserve the attribute of the dialogue between two predefined participants only ? (3) What is the operable format of the quote code in this forum software which would include the full site link of the post and provide the correct display of the quote layout not only on this forum but on an another forum too with the proper linking from a quote header to the original post would have been quoted remotely ? (4) I am not sure that the hoster would approve my posting a screenshot of their cPanel page. Which details (and maybe titles too) on a scan of the Server Information page are sensitive and should be swept under the carpet prior to attach the scan file whether in public topic or in private board ? Assume a client, me in this case, would like to not show the Hosting Package detail (which includes the name of the hoster) and the detail of the Server IP Address (whether shared or dedicated). Will the covering them out from the scan not prevent you from essential analysis of the other remained data ? (5) In general, is publishing of the Server IP Address detail, shared or dedicated or semi-dedicated, somehow related to a site or hosting security issue ? Thank you.

    That's not possible.

Please feel free to open a ticket with your Hosting Provider for more specific private support for your cPanel account.

I'm not sure what you're asking above.

Hiding your domain name, IP or email address from your posts or screenshots on this forum is a privacy matter more than a security issue.

Please feel free to open a ticket with your Hosting Provider for more specific private support for your cPanel account.

Hosting Provider confirmed that they are not the developers of cPanel software and, particularly, are not aware of the way to go around an obstacle of the @ delimiter in ftp user name. Tickets at the Hoster Provider are not editable, hence it is inappropriate channel for significant communications. And private support in tickets does contradict the necessity of keeping a dialogue between two participants still public, unlike forum software in general, with a possibility of making topics public or private, back and forth when needed, by approving/disapproving the topic for regular member not author of a topic, assuming accesibility of the (unapproved) topic to the staff members anyway. It occured that cPanel developers will be able, hopefully, to solve the "@" problem after analysis of the scans. After i will prepare them with coverings out (the process began) and after we, together, shall define the appropriate forum for attaching/posting.
I'm not sure what you're asking above.

I would like to get know how a quote header code, with its quote tags, should be constructed with insertion of the full back link of a post to satisfy the forum software operability ruling. For example such a code (for the beginning) :
[quote="[url=https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/ftp-user-name-without.617871/#post-2511651]Infopro"> I'm not sure what you're asking above.

displays currently as: [quote="[url=https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/ftp-user-name-without.617871/#post-2511651]Infopro"> I'm not sure what you're asking above.

That is correct. As a Website owner, you'll have to go by what ever your Hosting Provider tells you. Obviously you could get a server of your own with additional IP addresses and use cPanelMichael's suggestion above.

If you require private communication with Support, you should ope a ticket to Support directly. :)

My apologies, I have no idea what this means.

You can add the "@" in front of a username to link to it automagically if you like, @Agreetogri. HTH!

Judging on this your reply logic i should also get the installation of own forum and suggest to continue the dialogue in environment of unlimited editing time. What is the brand name and version of your support forum software ? Seems i do not see it on the pages. I hope the developers of the forum software are responsible for the modification of the quotes header format.

Hello @Agreetogri, To clarify, the primary issue here is that your hosting provider did not assign a dedicated IP address to your account, despite it appearing as such in the cPanel UI. This isn't an issue with the cPanel software because cPanel does not offer any functionality that displays "Dedicated IP" in the user interface. Thus, it's likely a customization your hosting provider has implemented (e.g. perhaps the package name is called "Dedicated IP"). If you'd like to solve the actual issue with FTP usernames, you'd need to ask your hosting provider to assign a dedicated IP address to your account. The reason I asked for a screenshot of what you see in cPanel was so that I could pinpoint what exactly you are seeing that suggests you should have a dedicated IP address, so I could then direct you with the exact information to relay to your web hosting provider to show them it's not an issue with the cPanel software. It doesn't have to be an image of the entire screen, just the part that's leading you to believe there's a bug in the cPanel UI. Let me know if this helps to clarify the situation, or if you have any additional questions. Thanks!
