cPanel AutoSSL provider cannot find temporary file
I must have inadvertently deleted the text file in /.well-known/pki-validation/ (for two subdomains). How would I restore the files or otherwise correct the error.

For completeness, here is the form of the message I have been receiving: The system queried for a temporary file at ". . ./.well-known/pki-validation/E076B4CC063119A32B69590E9A9C2A99.txt", but the web server responded with the following error: 404 (Not Found). A DNS (Domain Name System) or web server misconfiguration may exist. The domain . . . resolved to an IP address . . . that does not exist on this server. 0 -

Hello, This message suggests the domain name does not resolve to the IP address associated with the cPanel account. Have you verified the domain name resolves to the correct IP address? Thank you.0 -
cPanelMichael - Thank you. Yes, both subdomains resolve to same DNS. 0 -
Hello, Your access level shows as "Website Owner". Do you have root access to this server? If not, please report this issue to your web hosting provider. Otherwise, if you do have root access you can open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look. Thank you. 0 -
cPanelMichael - No, I do not have such access. As one additional piece of information, here is the message in full: The system queried for a temporary file at [removed], but the web server responded with the following error: 404 (Not Found). A DNS (Domain Name System) or web server misconfiguration may exist. The domain "m.domain.tld" resolved to an IP address "IP" that does not exist on this server.
The subdomain in question (as well as another, t.domain.tld) does resolve to IP.0 -
Hi, Please report this to your web hosting provider so they can take a closer look to see why that's happening, as this isn't something you can typically solve without root access to the system. Thanks! 0 -
cPanelMichael - Thanks - that's what I was beginning to suspect. And thanks for "sanitizing" my quote. 0
