Questions about PowerDNS

I"m quite new to Linux/WHM. I have just got at Linux VPS with WHM/Cpanel. I choose to use Powerdns since it supports DNSSEC. I already have a Windows VPS where I use Cloudns as slave name servers. I would like to do the same with my Linux VPS. I therefore have some questions " I hope you will answer for me. 1) When I run the installed_versions command from the API Shell. It says bind: "9.9.4-51" and powerdns: "3.4.10-2". I just want to make sure " should both be present? 2) When I use Powerdns " Can I when still use the DNS Functions in the WHM menu? 3) Can I upgrade Powerdns to a newer version " or is that a bad idea ?

  Yes, both should be present. PowerDNS currently uses BIND for the backend, though we do have a feature request open to add support for a MySQL backed PowerDNS: MySQL Backend for PowerDNS

  Yes, the only limitations you will currently face with PowerDNS is the lack of DNS clustering support should you want to use DNSSEC, and the lack of support for internal resolvers (e.g. it requires external name servers in the /etc/resolv.conf file).

  Can I upgrade Powerdns to a newer version " or is that a bad idea ?

  
  We only support the use of the "cpanel-pdns" RPM that's automatically installed when you choose PowerDNS as your name server. Thank you.
