retry time not reached for any host for 'anydomain.com'
Hello,
I am having an issue from sending email from outlook, below is the error.
retry time not reached for any host for 'anydomain.com'
then->
Remote host closed connection in response to end of data
then->
Mail delivery failure.
While I am sending email from webmail, it is working fine.
Please suggest any solution.

Make sure the email setting used to configure the email account is correct.

If things are working well in Webmail, that at least tells us that all the email settings and mailserver are correct and working. It sounds like this is an issue with either that specific network or mail client settings.

Mail client settings are checked and looks good as there is no error while sending email from mail client. Also checked in different laptop/system same error for all emails. I am not able to find the exact problem with the email not sending from mail client.

You mentioned there isn't an error in the mail client, so can you let me know where you see the "retry time not reached" error?
0 -
I received this error in WHM at Mail Delivery Report.

And just to confirm, at this time, you can send email properly from the cPanel >> Webmail page? Just not from a mail client like Outlook or Thunderbird?

Yes, emails from webmail are working completely fine. Only issue with Outlook (Mail CLient)

I don't have a good explanation for this behavior. Typically the "retry time not reached" error is a DNS or network connection problem, and I'd expect the same thing to happen in webmail if that was the case.
Is this only happening from your personal computer, or is this happening on multiple machines?

its happening from multiple machines for multiple email for multiple domains on a single VPS server.

Do you see any specific errors in the /var/log/maillog file on the server when you try to make a connection from Outlook?
0 -
Not yet, where to access this file?
0 -
That would have to be accessed over the command line as the root user. If you don't own the entire VPS, you'll need to contact the hosting provider for assistance.

You'll need to reach out to your host for more support for this issue, unless your licensed was purchased directly from cPanel and then you can contact us. That file has to be opened with a text editor program.

this VPS is a managed server from Godaddy.

They should be able to help perform some additional troubleshooting with you.

As it is a managed server, they cannot support it. I have to do it from my end only. I was thinking of crashing the server and rebuilding it. That may resolve it.

That seems a bit extreme for an email issue, but I suppose it's an option if there isn't much data on it.
Is your cPanel license purchased from GoDaddy as well? If it's purchased through us, we can provide you more direct help through a support ticket.
You can check your IP address here to see who the license is purchased with - https://verify.cpanel.net/app/verify

It's purchased from Godaddy only.

Grant cPanel Support Access. I do have this option, can we generate a ticket?
0 -
Yes - if that option is available we can take a look!

Yes, I grant cpanel support access.

I rebuild the server but same error is there and not my website is also not working. I found error in service status that my service is down. 1.httpd & 2.spamd.

That would indicate the issue with the mail wasn't on the server.
It would be best to work with us or an admin to help determine the cause of the issue. Were you able to submit a ticket?

I can submit customer service request, not a technical support request.

You'll want to reach out to the license provider where you purchased the cPanel license so they can help you with this issue.
