    Hi,

A domain name expiration shouldn't have affected your website files in any way (as it happened, I actually accidentally let one of my personal domain names lapse two days ago - and when I got the "Suspended" notification from the registry, I just logged in and renewed it - and the site was back up and running within a very short time without any further interaction).

Anyway, the full Home Directory backup should have included all your files - including the sub domain files (you can check this by using something like 7Zip to open the downloaded .tar.gz file).

Can you see your subdomain files in cPanel's File Manager/FTP/SSH in the appropriate locations (such as 3f1b06ad/public )? ? What happens if you go to the subdomains?

    Hi
Thank you for your reply. To make it more clear
I lost the website data because i moved my account from a GoDaddy reseller to GoDaddy itself so the Cpanel account changed and so on for the ip address. after that i lost the domain name because i couldnt transfer it from the old account to the new one because of some issues but after that i get it back.
The screenshot i provided in the first message is from the old account.

When i get the domain name back, the website doesn't work and also the webmail so i used the last full backup to recover the website using FileZilla. The website is working now but the sub domains aren't.
I compressed the files using 7zip.

That's what inside the ''3f1b06ad/public'' folder you asked about if it could help; i am available to provide any other information if it could help

Am I correct in thinking that you restored the backup file using Filezilla - instead of uploading it via cPanel's Backup "Restore a home directory backup" option?

If you did upload via FTP/SSH/Filezilla, you would have just restored the files (which your screenshot illustrates) but not added the subdomain settings. You could use the "Restore a home directory backup" option now, but you will lose any changes made since the backup was taken.

Alternatively, will need to manually re-create the domain names in this case - If you go into cPanel->Domains->Create A New Domain and enter admin.<your domain> , ensure "Share document root" is unticked and in the "Home" entry (Specify the directory where you want the files for this domain to exist.), enter "'3f1b06ad/public" then that should start working (once the DNS propagation takes place). Repeat for each of the subdomains.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks for your reply,

I created the subdomains following your instructions.

Concerning the ''Restore a home directory backup'' should i upload the tar.gz directly or should i decompress it before uploading it please??

I believe the .tar.gz file should be uploaded "as is" to the cPanel Backup->"Restore Home Directory" setting. It's been many a year (possible decades) since I last used it - but I'm sure it'll reject it with an appropriate error message if it is in the incorrect format. https://docs.cpanel.net/cpanel/files/backup-wizard/#restore gives more details

Without knowing what the errors are/were, it's difficult to say. It'll probably be best if you contact your web hosting company (GoDaddy) and ask them to reset your account - they may also be able to do an "account migration" from your old server which will help ensure everything is copied over correctly.

No, you would want to leave those unchecked.
